In Appreciation!
We would be remiss if we didn’t take a moment to recognize the many dedicated volunteers that help keep the Chamber and its activities running smoothly. We want to offer our sincere thanks and a HUGE round of applause to:
JEREMY TYLER, JACK SHELLER AND TONY ROY:
These folks installed and maintained the ice skating rink. They drove to Ellsworth to pick up railroad ties, spent several days leveling the area, placing the ties and fitting the liner. They are also preparing to take it down this week.
JAY WARD:
When a heavy snowstorm kept the town’s plow working in other directions, Jay plowed the road and parking area at the ice skating rink. He also removed all the pallets (which are used for our Christmas inflatables) from the lawn.
RYAN AND SANDI MALAGARA:
In addition to helping set up and manage the outdoor movies last summer, the Malagaras provided free water and soft drinks to those attending the movies. Ryan also spent several days insulating and winterizing the basement area of the Chamber’s train station.
MATT BAUMAN:
Matt is the Chamber’s go to guy when we need help. He helps set up the inflatable Christmas village, puts our air conditioner in and out, carries and stores supplies in and out of our storage area, takes off and reinstalls our screen door, installed the outdoor flagpole holders and is ready whenever we call.
LISA AND MARK CONTARD:
The Contards own and operate How Sweet It Is, in Machias, and have provided free popcorn at the summer outdoor movies for several years.
CINDY ROSSIGNOL:
Cindy manages the Chamber's website on a volunteer basis. Her help and advice is immeasurable.
DEAN MCGUIRE:
Dean graciously plows the Chamber’s driveway all winter, even stopping to shovel off our stairs and handicapped walkway. He provides buckets of salt for our use all winter. Dean loans the Chamber chairs, tables and pop-up canopies for our use at the Wild Blueberry Festival and Harvest Fair. He provides a flat bed for our musicians during Chamber events. In the summer he neatly trims the overgrown grass on the section of railroad track next to the Chamber.
GARY LAMB:
Gary began volunteering for the Chamber when he pulled our inflatable Santa Claus from the Middle River when Mother Nature blew him away. Gary also installed a wall mounted television for us so we will be able to offer ZOOM access and solved a persistent audio problem we had with our movie projector.
